Boosted by the NCAA Men’s Final Four, the Valero Alamo Bowl and the city’s Tricentennial celebration, San Antonio hoteliers sold more room-nights and raked in more cash last year.

Room revenue at metro-area inns jumped 9.3 percent to $1.38 billion in 2018, according to a report by Source Strategies Inc., a San Antonio-based hotel consulting firm. Revenue reached $317 million in the fourth quarter alone.

Revenue per available room, or REVPAR — a key measurement of hotels’ performance — was $77.01 last year, up from $72.55 in 2017. Average daily rates also rose.
